Customizations

Can residents mount a TV in their apartment?

Yes. TV mounting is permitted. Holes larger than a dime must be filled upon move out. Staff cannot assist with installation.

Can residents paint their apartment?

No

Can residents install curtain rods in their apartment?

Yes. Residents may add curtain rods or approved treatments without altering community blinds. At move-out, all hardware must be removed and walls fully restored to move-in condition.

Are grills allowed on patio/ balconies?

No

Can residents decorate their patio/balcony?

Yes

Are satellite dishes allowed on patio/ balconies?

Yes. Can not be attached, must be free standing and inside patio. Insurance coverage required.

Can residents smoke on their patio/balcony?

No

All service requests should be submitted through the UDR Resident App.

What qualifies as an emergency service request?

An emergency is any issue that poses an immediate threat to health, safety, property, or essential services and requires urgent attention to prevent further damage or danger.

Who is responsible for replacing smart lock batteries?

We provide Smart Lock batteries at move-in. After that, residents are responsible for replacing them as needed.

What thermostat settings are recommended to conserve energy?

68 degrees during winter (65 degrees when sleeping 60 degrees when away from home) and 78 degrees during summer (85 degrees when away)

What actions should be taken if moisture or discoloration is observed in the home?

Submit a service request via the UDR resident app

What methods help reduce moisture or discoloration in the home?

Turn on ac to remove heat and humidity from home. Cover pots and pans when cooking. Use a dehumidifier. Open windows or doors to let fresh air in. Wipe condensation from all surfaces after showers. Do not keep doors/windows open on humid days.
