National Wildlife Refuge

As one of only a few urban national wildlife refuges in the country, the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge is a sight to behold. The Refuge may be within just miles of Portland. However, the seemingly endless stretch of marshes and plains may suggest otherwise. Although the area only accounts for less than one percent of the 712 square-mile Tualatin River watershed, the Refuge maintains an incredible number of diverse habitats that provide living environments for nearly two hundred species of birds.

Tualatin Community Park

At the Tualatin Community Park, you will find a boat ramp that allows access to the Tualatin River, tennis courts, baseball field, bbq areas, playground, skate park, and dog park. There is also a path through the pine forest or walking path that connects to other parks in Tigard and Durham.
