Associates & Culture

UDR’s success starts with our associates. We cultivate a culture of curiosity and exploration, encouraging associates to explore, grow, and thrive on a journey of discovery and purpose. By prioritizing and enhancing the associate experience, we aim to support workforce engagement, customer satisfaction, talent retention, and long-term business performance.  Oversight of human capital management is supported through annual updates to the Board of Directors, which include evaluations of strategy, priorities, performance, and related goals. This approach reflects UDR’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and governance in the management of its workforce.

Culture

Community Impact

We believe that our associates should be active in their communities, and we support these efforts. In 2025, the company continued to build upon its volunteer policy enhancements enacted in 2024 including providing associates with flexibility to volunteer at any time throughout the year with a charitable organization of their choice. Through the policy, UDR provided 963 hours of paid time off to associates for volunteer work with local organizations. We also supported community engagement through food, clothing, and blood drives, as well as initiatives intended to raise awareness of nonprofit organizations and community causes.
